Design: The cover’s cohesive color palette, the painted texture, and the handwritten typography reflect the mysterious mood of the story while maintaining similarities to comparable books in the genre.
The front cover depicts the story location, highlights the protagonist and suggests her internal reflection.
The back cover portrays an interior scene that is prominent throughout the narrative and maintains artistic unity with the front cover.
Inside, the design shifts to a clean, minimal feel, in line with New England’s no-frills practicality and lending itself to an easy-read of the overall story. Its classic serif typeface, hierarchy of typography, balanced margins, and consistent grid system support long-form readability.
The result is a cozy, yet clean and contemporary, book design that is striking on the shelf and inviting to readers.
