These owls came from a failed reading lesson with my youngest daughter. I asked, “what does T + owel make?” My daughter chirped back, “tea plus owl is a tea party!” The idea stuck and soon I was sketching thumbnails of an all-owl tea party.

Each owl was drawn separately, allowing for a different species of owl and different mood as well. I added an element of fun when I named them, calling the whole group Tea Cozy.
